Never attempt to install a digital thermostat until the power to your furnace is turned off. Check to see if you need a permit.

If wires pass through a floor and up into a wall cavity before reaching a thermostat. Just let me say that this encounter has been entirely professional and most helpful.

Our honeywell programmable thermostats two of them are. A small drop cloth or paper can also be used to place on the floor below the thermostat to catch dust, debris, and other stuff that can fall on the floor.
