I think it would prove to be a bit more difficult. I couldn't see myself getting along very well with someone who did not share similar views on those things.
We talked about it and plan to be mature and respectful of each other's views. I guess, at the end of the day, when we vote for a party, we are voting for things on which we may not always agree.
The question is if they could date me. And wait to speak until your partner is completely finished with their thought.

I could change my views and settle down in one place to grow roots rather than having to follow the herd. I don't plan to stay here, so it's not really a big deal.

But, let's say you're a staunch republican, and you fall madly in love with a hardcore democrat — can you make your relationship work in spite of your wildly different political views? He's a democrat and I'm a republican and sometimes it gets heated but that's part of it.
